Every two years, the finalists and the winner of the Indianapolis Prize are honored at a Gala celebration in Indianapolis. This event, unique among other similar occasions, focuses on the stories of the men and women who have contributed so much throughout the world to preserve the Earth's most endangered and threatened animals. The Gala brings together hundreds of caring individuals eager for the opportunity to express their appreciation for the heroes who were considered for that year's Indianapolis Prize.
Hosted by international celebrities (conservationists themselves) and featuring impactful entertainment, the Gala's highlights are video productions of the six finalists for the Prize, shot on location where each of these scientists is making a contribution to saving some of the rarest animals on Earth. This Gala tears at your heart and gives all of us hope for the future.
The 2010 Indianapolis Prize Gala is scheduled for September 25 at The Westin Hotel in downtown Indianapolis.
